Rocca di Montegrossi

Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Rocca di Montegrossi is a renowned wine producer known for its exceptional quality and dedication to traditional winemaking techniques. The estate, which has been in the hands of the Stianti Mascheroni family since the 1950s, is nestled on a hilltop with stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and olive groves.

The winery's philosophy is centered around the concept of terroir, with a focus on showcasing the unique characteristics of the land and grapes in each bottle. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 350-450 meters above sea level, with a mixture of clay, limestone, and schist soils, providing the perfect conditions for growing Sangiovese, the main grape used in their wines.

Rocca di Montegrossi produces a range of wines, including Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, and Gran Selezione. The flagship wine, Chianti Classico Riserva San Marcellino, is a blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo, and Colorino, aged in French oak barrels for 24 months. This wine consistently receives high scores from top wine critics and has become a benchmark for quality Chianti Classico.

In addition to their red wines, Rocca di Montegrossi also produces a white wine, called Geremia, made from a blend of Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. This wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels, resulting in a complex and elegant wine with a long finish.

The winery's commitment to sustainable and organic farming practices is evident in their wines, which are known for their purity, balance, and elegance. They also use biodynamic methods to enhance the quality of their grapes and preserve the health of the land.
