Tenuta Delle Terre Nere

Tenuta Delle Terre Nere is a prestigious winery located on the slopes of Mount Etna, in the heart of Sicily. The winery is known for producing exceptional wines that showcase the unique terroir of the region and reflect the passion and dedication of its owner, Marco de Grazia.

The volcanic soil of Mount Etna, combined with the high altitude and cool climate, creates the perfect conditions for producing elegant and complex wines. The vineyards of Tenuta Delle Terre Nere are situated between 600 and 1000 meters above sea level, and are planted with indigenous grape varieties such as Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, and Carricante.

The winery was founded in 2002 when de Grazia, a renowned wine importer, purchased a few hectares of abandoned vineyards on the northern side of Mount Etna. He saw the potential of the volcanic soil and the old vines and was determined to revive them. Today, the estate has expanded to over 50 hectares, with some of the vines dating back over 100 years.

Tenuta Delle Terre Nere is committed to sustainable and organic farming practices, and all of their wines are made using natural methods. The winery also follows the principles of biodynamic farming, which emphasizes the relationship between the vineyard, the environment, and the cosmos. This holistic approach to winemaking results in wines that are pure, expressive, and have a strong sense of place.

The wines of Tenuta Delle Terre Nere are classified under the Etna DOC appellation, which was established in 1968 and is one of the oldest appellations in Sicily. The wines from this region are known for their elegance, balance, and remarkable aging potential. Tenuta Delle Terre Nere offers a range of wines, including reds, whites, and rosés, all of which are highly sought after by wine enthusiasts
