Casa Botran

It was in 1940 that 5 brothers, Spanish immigrants, founded Casa Botran. Since then, the brand has produced rums that are produced, matured and bottled entirely in their country of origin. This allows Botran rums to benefit from a Protected Designation of Origin.

Botran rums are distilled from sugar cane honey and fermentation is carried out using a strain of yeast present on pineapple peel. Located at an altitude of 2,300 meters, the aging cellars benefit from a stable temperature of 14°C throughout the year, which induces a relatively low angels' share: 5% per year.

The rums in the Botran range are matured in the solera system and are aged and bottled without additives.

"We want to give the world a taste of the freedom, rhythm and vitality we feel here. We grow, ferment and distil our cane in the rich green fields of Retalhuleu. Then we age our rums in the mountains of Quetzaltenango, perfect conditions for letting our unique, Dynamic Ageing System shine. Finally we bottle our rums in Mixco, near Guatemala City, creating a rum that’s the true product of Guatemala.
It’s why we’ve been awarded - Protected Designation of Origin and we’re proud to make our rums entirely in Guatemala."
