Michter's is an American whiskey distillery based in Louisville, Kentucky. The operation focuses exclusively on American whiskey production, with its range encompassing bourbon, rye, and blended expressions. The brand draws on Kentucky's long distilling tradition, a state whose limestone-filtered water, grain-rich agricultural landscape, and distinct seasonal temperature swings have made it the heartland of American bourbon production.

Kentucky straight bourbon must be produced in the United States, distilled from a mash of at least 51% corn, aged in new charred oak containers, and bottled at no less than 40% ABV. Michter's is known for its small batch approach, which involves selecting and vatting a limited number of barrels rather than large-scale blending. The distillery also maintains its own barrel-entry proof and heat-cycling warehouses to influence how the whiskey interacts with the wood during maturation.

The US*1 Small Batch Kentucky Straight Bourbon is among Michter's core expressions. Bottled at 45.7% ABV, it draws from a relatively small number of barrels and reflects the brand's emphasis on approachable but carefully controlled production — offering the caramel, vanilla, and oak notes characteristic of well-aged Kentucky bourbon.
