Les Crêtes

Les Crêtes is a prestigious wine producer located in the heart of the Aosta Valley, in the north-western region of Italy. Nestled in the foothills of the majestic Alps, this family-owned winery has been producing high-quality wines and spirits for over three generations.

The Aosta Valley, also known as Valle d'Aosta in Italian, is a small but significant wine region, known for its unique microclimate and diverse terroir. The valley is surrounded by mountains, which not only provide a breathtaking backdrop but also act as a natural barrier, protecting the vineyards from harsh winds and extreme weather conditions. This, combined with the cool continental climate, creates the perfect conditions for growing grapes with great complexity and intensity.

Les Crêtes specialises in producing wines from indigenous grape varieties, such as Petite Arvine, Fumin, and Cornalin, which are native to the Aosta Valley. These grapes are hand-harvested from the steep slopes of the valley, where the vines benefit from excellent sun exposure and well-drained soils. The winery's commitment to sustainable viticulture practices ensures that the grapes are of the highest quality, resulting in wines with a distinct sense of place.

One of the most renowned appellations produced by Les Crêtes is the Torrette Superiore. This red wine is made from a blend of Barbera and Petit Rouge grapes, which are aged in oak barrels for at least 12 months. The result is a full-bodied wine with an intense ruby colour, aromas of red fruits and spices, and a long, velvety finish. It is the perfect representation of the Aosta Valley's unique terroir and Les Crêtes' dedication to quality winemaking.

In addition to their impressive range of wines, Les Crêtes also produces a selection of grappas and liqueurs using traditional methods and local ingredients.
