Elena Fucci

Elena Fucci is a renowned wine producer from the Basilicata region in southern Italy. She is the owner and winemaker of the eponymous winery, which was founded in 2000. With her passion and dedication, Elena has put Basilicata on the map as a top wine-producing region in Italy.

Basilicata is a small and lesser-known region, situated between the regions of Campania and Puglia. It is known for its rugged and mountainous terrain, which makes it a challenging place to grow grapes. However, this also means that the grapes grown here have a unique and distinctive character.

Elena Fucci's vineyards are located in the heart of Basilicata in the commune of Barile, at the foot of the extinct volcano, Mount Vulture. The volcanic soil, combined with the warm and dry climate, creates the perfect conditions for growing the region's native grape variety, Aglianico.

Aglianico is a dark-skinned grape that produces wines with intense flavors and powerful tannins. Elena Fucci is a master at working with this grape, bringing out its full potential and creating wines with great complexity and depth.

The winery's flagship wine, the Titolo Aglianico del Vulture, is a true expression of the terroir and Elena's winemaking skills. It is made from 100% Aglianico grapes, which are hand-harvested and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for 12-15 months in French oak barrels, resulting in a full-bodied and elegant wine with notes of dark fruits, spices, and a long, lingering finish.

In addition to the Titolo, Elena also produces a white wine, the Bianco di Ciccio, made from the local grape Greco. This wine is a refreshing and aromatic expression of the region's white grapes, with a crisp acidity and notes of citrus and tropical fruits.
