Domaine Danjean Berthoux

Domaine Danjean Berthoux is a family-owned winery located in the Burgundy region of France. The winery was founded in 1850 and is currently run by the fifth generation of the Danjean family. The winery is located in the small village of Uchizy, in the heart of the Mâconnais region, known for producing some of the finest white wines in Burgundy.

The winery covers 11 hectares of vineyards, with 70% of the production dedicated to white wines and 30% to red wines. The vineyards are planted with the traditional grape varieties of Burgundy, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Gamay. The winery practices sustainable viticulture, using organic and biodynamic methods to ensure the health of the soil and the vines.

The Mâconnais region is situated on the southernmost tip of Burgundy, with a warmer climate compared to the rest of the region. This climate allows for a longer growing season, resulting in ripe and flavorful grapes. The limestone and clay soils of the region also contribute to the unique terroir of the wines produced here.

Domaine Danjean Berthoux produces a range of wines under various appellations, including Mâcon, Pouilly-Fuissé, and Saint-Véran. Their wines are known for their exceptional quality and expression of the terroir. The whites are fresh, vibrant, and elegant, with notes of citrus, stone fruits, and a touch of minerality. The reds are delicate yet full-bodied, with flavors of red berries and spices.

One of the highlights of the winery is their Pouilly-Fuissé “Clos de Monsieur Noly” cuvée, made from a single vineyard and aged in oak barrels. This wine has received numerous accolades and is considered one of the top wines of the Mâconnais region. The winery also produces
