Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot

Located in the heart of the prestigious Côte de Nuits region in Burgundy, Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot is a family-owned winery that has been producing high-quality wines for generations. The estate is situated in the village of Flagey-Echézeaux, known for its exceptional terroir and ideal growing conditions for Pinot Noir.

The history of Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot dates back to the 1930s when the Coquard and Loison families joined forces through marriage. However, it wasn't until the 1980s that the estate began bottling and selling its own wines, instead of selling its grapes to other producers. This shift in focus allowed the family to showcase their unique terroir and winemaking techniques.

The winery is now run by the fourth generation, brothers Thomas and Maxime, who have continued the family tradition of producing exceptional wines. They have also introduced sustainable farming practices in their vineyards, ensuring the health of the land and the quality of their grapes.

The estate has a total of 13 hectares of vineyards, with 12 hectares dedicated to Pinot Noir and the remaining one hectare to Chardonnay. The vines are planted on diverse soils, including limestone, clay, and gravel, which add complexity to the wines. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully sorted to ensure only the best fruit is used in the winemaking process.

Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot produces a range of wines, including several Premier and Grand Cru wines. Their flagship wine is the Echézeaux Grand Cru, a powerful and elegant red wine with aromas of dark fruits, spices, and earth. Another notable wine is the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Chaumes, a complex and well-structured wine with notes of black cherry, violet, and tobacco.
