Col Solare

Col Solare is a renowned wine producer located in the heart of Washington's Red Mountain AVA (American Viticultural Area). Founded in 1995, this joint venture between two wine powerhouses, Chateau Ste. Michelle and Antinori, has quickly gained recognition for its exceptional quality wines.

The Red Mountain AVA is a small but mighty region known for its unique terroir and ideal growing conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon and other Bordeaux varietals. With its warm, dry climate and well-drained soils, this region produces grapes with concentrated flavors and exceptional balance.

Col Solare's winemaking philosophy is centered around showcasing the best of this terroir. The winery's name, which means "shining hill" in Italian, reflects the belief that the vineyard's location on a south facing hillside provides the perfect amount of sunlight and warmth for the grapes to reach their full potential.

The winery's flagship wine, the Col Solare Red Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon, is a testament to this philosophy. Made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and other Bordeaux varietals, this wine is a true expression of the Red Mountain terroir. It boasts intense aromas of dark fruit, spice, and cedar, with a full-bodied palate and velvety tannins that lead to a long, lingering finish.

In addition to their flagship wine, Col Solare also produces a limited quantity of Chardonnay from the Red Mountain AVA. This wine is fermented and aged in French oak barrels, resulting in a rich and creamy wine with notes of pear, apple, and a touch of vanilla.

Col Solare's commitment to quality is evident not only in their wines but also in their state-of-the-art winery, which is designed to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape. The winery's tasting room offers stunning views of the Red Mountain AVA, making it a
