Castello Di Ama

The Castello Di Ama is a prestigious wine producer located in the heart of the Chianti Classico region in Tuscany, Italy. The estate is known for producing exceptional wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region and the passion of the winemakers.

The history of Castello Di Ama dates back to the 12th century when it was originally a fortress built to defend the nearby city of Siena. Over the centuries, the estate changed hands numerous times until it was acquired by the current owners, the husband and wife team of Marco Pallanti and Lorenza Sebasti in 1982. Since then, they have transformed the estate into one of the most renowned wine producers in the region.

The vineyards of Castello Di Ama cover approximately 80 hectares of land, with 65 hectares dedicated to wine production. The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 500-550 meters above sea level, providing the ideal climate and soil for growing Sangiovese, the main grape variety used in Chianti Classico wines. In addition to Sangiovese, the estate also grows other indigenous grape varieties such as Canaiolo, Colorino, and Malvasia Nera.

Castello Di Ama produces a range of wines, including Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, and single-vineyard wines such as Vigneto Bellavista and Vigneto La Casuccia. These wines are crafted using traditional winemaking techniques and are aged in French oak barrels to enhance their complexity and character.

The winemaking philosophy at Castello Di Ama is centered around sustainability and respect for the environment. The estate has been practicing organic farming since 2000 and is currently in the process of transitioning to biodynamic farming practices. This commitment to sustainability is reflected in the quality and purity of their wines.

In addition to their exceptional wines, Castello Di Ama also offers visitors a
