Bodega Chacra

Bodega Chacra is a renowned wine producer located in the Rio Negro Valley of Patagonia, Argentina. The winery was founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, a descendant of the renowned Italian winemaking family behind the iconic Super Tuscan wine, Sassicaia. Bodega Chacra is known for producing high-quality, terroir-driven wines that showcase the unique characteristics of the Patagonian region.

The Rio Negro Valley, where Bodega Chacra is situated, is one of the southernmost wine regions in the world. The valley is characterized by a cool, dry climate, with large temperature fluctuations between day and night, which is ideal for growing grapes with intense flavors and aromas. The region is also known for its diverse and mineral-rich soils, which contribute to the complexity of the wines produced here.

Bodega Chacra's vineyards are located on ancient glacial terraces, at an altitude of 1,000 feet above sea level. The winery practices sustainable viticulture, with a focus on organic and biodynamic farming methods. This approach allows the grapes to express their true character and terroir, resulting in wines with a sense of place.

The winery produces three main wines: Barda, Sin Azufre, and Cincuenta y Cinco. Barda is the flagship wine of Bodega Chacra and is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. This wine is aged in French oak barrels for 11 months, resulting in a complex and elegant wine with aromas of red fruits, spices, and earthy notes. Sin Azufre, which translates to "without sulfur," is a natural wine made without the addition of any sulfites. This wine is a true expression of the terroir, with intense aromas of dark fruits and a silky texture. Cincuenta y Cinco is a limited edition wine made from 100% Merlot grapes
