Chignin

Chignin is a small, picturesque village located in the Savoie region of France. This charming village is known for its production of unique and flavorful wines, particularly the white wine that shares its name. Chignin wine is produced by a select group of producers who are dedicated to preserving the traditional winemaking methods and showcasing the unique terroir of the region.

One of the most notable producers of Chignin wine is the Domaine Jean-François Quénard. This family-owned winery has been producing wine in Chignin for over 350 years, making it one of the oldest and most respected wineries in the region. The current winemaker, Jean-François Quénard, is the 11th generation of his family to carry on the winemaking tradition.

The winery is located on the slopes of the Bauges Mountains, which provide a favorable microclimate for grape growing. The soil is composed of limestone, clay, and gravel, which give the wines a unique minerality and complexity. The vineyards are carefully tended to by hand, and only the best grapes are selected for production. This dedication to quality is evident in the exceptional wines produced by Domaine Jean-François Quénard.

One of the standout wines from Domaine Jean-François Quénard is the Chignin Bergeron. This white wine is made from the Roussanne grape, which is native to the Savoie region. The wine has a beautiful golden color and aromas of apricot, peach, and honey. On the palate, it is full-bodied with a rich texture and a long, satisfying finish. This wine is a perfect example of the unique character and terroir of Chignin.

In addition to the Chignin Bergeron, Domaine Jean-François Quénard also produces other white wines, including the Chignin Jacquère and the Chignin Mondeuse. The Monde
